Friends of BCNC: Twin Sister

flaneuryan:

Pas de chemise- pas de chaussures- sans dés!

Brooklyn’s Twin Sister played Bloomington’s go-to pizzeria, Greek’s, on Sunday night. They packed it out, dropped jaws and really, just took over. The music they create takes cues from all the endearing parts of Cocteau Twins, Stereolab and Italo-Disco, but takes it to the basements and warehouse spaces where today’s art rock is being grown. Don’t get me wrong friends, this is dream-Pop (yes, with a capital P). Less samey than Beach House and with three times the exuberance. BCNC opened the Greek’s show — performing under the name The French & Indian War — and will open once again in Charlotte on August 14. That’s a few of the good little rug rats of Twin Sis’ up there, scarfing some slices at Greek’s under the glazed-over, but watchful, eye of Spicoli.
